Cooking rice and grains often involves measuring ingredients, calculating water ratios, and keeping an eye on the cooking process. The KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker takes a different approach by automatically measuring the ingredients and dispensing the appropriate amount of water, making everyday meal preparation more convenient.
One of its most interesting features is the built-in scale, which detects how much rice, grains, or beans you’ve added to the cooking pot. The cooker then calculates the required water ratio and dispenses water from its integrated tank. This eliminates the need to measure water separately for each batch.
With 21 preset cooking options, the appliance handles more than ordinary white rice. It includes settings for foods such as quinoa, oats, couscous, barley, farro, and beans. The touchscreen makes it straightforward to select the appropriate cooking program, while the 8-cup capacity provides room for preparing larger portions.
The included steamer basket adds another layer of convenience. Positioned above the cooking pot, it can be used to steam vegetables, fish, or meat alongside your grains. The cooker also features a delayed-start function that lets you prepare ingredients in advance and schedule cooking up to 24 hours later.
For cleanup, the removable water tank makes refilling convenient, while the included nonstick ceramic cooking pot helps simplify maintenance. By combining automatic water measurement, multiple cooking presets, and steaming capabilities, this KitchenAid cooker takes much of the measuring and preparation work out of cooking everyday grains and rice.
